Sometimes things don’t go as planned—but that doesn’t mean they can’t still be meaningful.
Jenna and AJ were originally supposed to get married on June 7th, but after a family member fell ill, they made the call to move their wedding up and keep it small. Even with a change of plans, they decided to still do photos on the original date—and I’m so glad they did.
Just hours before the session, our town faced a devastating fire that destroyed an entire apartment building. It was a heartbreaking day for the community, and the weight of it was felt by everyone. In the midst of that, taking the time to create something beautiful felt like a quiet moment of light on an otherwise heavy day. We’re holding close in our hearts all those who lost everything in the fire—our thoughts and support are with you as you begin to rebuild.
The session was relaxed, full of genuine moments, and set against the gorgeous backdrop of Bullmoose Marshes. The golden hour light did its thing, and so did these two. They laughed, they soaked it in, and we captured some pretty stunning shots.
It was one of those sessions that reminded me why I love what I do. Not everything has to be picture-perfect to tell a beautiful story—sometimes it’s about showing up, enjoying the moment, and rolling with life as it comes.
