A Big Move, A Fresh Start — Moving to Alberta

If you’ve been following along for a while, you probably know our family is getting ready for a pretty big change — we’re moving to Alberta.

After a little over 10 years in Tumbler Ridge, BC, this little mountain town has become such a huge part of our story. It’s where I built my dog grooming business, started M Cutler Photography, photographed so many beautiful families, and honestly… grew into myself as both a business owner and a mom.

Leaving isn’t easy.

Tumbler Ridge has given us so many memories, friendships, and opportunities that we’ll always be grateful for. But sometimes life nudges you toward a new chapter — and for our family, Alberta feels like the right next step.

We’ll be settling near the Sundre/Bowden area, surrounded by open fields, big skies, and (hopefully!) plenty of opportunities to grow roots again.

As exciting as this move is, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t emotional too.

Moving means saying goodbye to familiar places, routines, and people who have supported my business over the years. It means starting over in a lot of ways — rebuilding clientele, meeting new people, and figuring out what life and work will look like in a brand-new place.

But it also means possibility.

It means slowing down a little, being closer to family, creating the kind of life we’ve been dreaming about, and building something new from the ground up.

For my photography business, I’m especially excited about what’s ahead.

I’ll be reopening sessions in Alberta with a big focus on maternity, newborns, and milestones (while still photographing all the beautiful stages of life I love). I have so many ideas for studio sessions, outdoor locations, and ways to create meaningful, colorful images for families in this next season.

There’s something really special about documenting life during seasons of change — and right now, I feel like we’re living one of those ourselves.

So if you’re local to Central Alberta (or will be soon!), hi 👋 I’d love to connect. Whether you’ve followed along for years or are just finding me now, thank you for being here during this transition.

Here’s to fresh starts, a little uncertainty, lots of excitement, and building something beautiful on the other side of change.

Alberta — we’re almost there 💛
